Q1: What is Jameson Connects? And how does it work?

It’s our way to connect with Jameson fans, just like you. See it as a doorway into the Jameson world giving you access to live events, exclusive experiences and much more.

Q2: How does Jameson Connects work?

It’s as easy as opening up one of our bottles. Simply join via tapping your NFC enabled smartphone on the Jameson bottle cap. Then register and enjoy what comes your way.

Q3: Who is Jameson Connects for?

We invite everyone to the table, as long as you’re over 18 years old and live in Ireland.

Q4: If I gift a connected bottle to someone not living in Ireland can they get their hands on the Jameson Connects experiences and offerings?

Just like our distillery, this programme is only local to Ireland, for now. But you never know what the future holds.

Q5: Can I connect with a Jameson bottle in a bar if I’ve bought a Jameson drink?

There are some things we don’t like to mess with, like our liquid. That’s why, we’ve left the tech to the bottle. But keep an eye out on upcoming campaigns that will tell you more about Jameson Connects and how to get more from your bottle.

Q6: Do I need to buy a bottle in a supermarket or off-license to register for Jameson Connects?

Good news. You don’t need to buy a bottle to register for Jameson Connects. That said, we want to make sure true Jameson fans who have bought bottles get more from it. So when it comes to certain offers you will have to validate your bottle, through tapping the cap and adding in your unique 4-digit code, which you’ll find under the cap. The process is just as smooth as the liquid inside.

Q7: Can I just tap the cap on shelf in-store? Then why would I buy the bottle?

Our smooth triple distilled Irish whiskey aside, you’ll need to buy a bottle to avail of certain offers which will require you to validate your bottle with a 4-digit code, only discovered under the cap after purchase.

Q8: Do I have to buy my bottle from a specific retailer?

The good news is that from March 1st every bottle of Jameson you find on a shelf in any retailer will be connected – they’re all in on it.

Q1: What is NFC?

It’s a bit of a mouthful. It stands for Near Field Communication. It’s a clever piece of new tech that allows your phone to digitally interact with something in close proximity, providing a wireless connection between your device and another.

Q2: If I don’t have an NFC enabled phone can I still be part of Jameson Connects?

We’re an open circle. You can still be part of Jameson Connects, but it’s worth knowing some parts of the programme can only be tapped into if you ‘Tap The Cap’, and enter your special 4-digit code found under your cap.

Q3: How does NFC work?

Ok, we’ve done our best to distill it down. The NFC tech essentially creates a link (short-range network if you want to use the correct jargon) to exchange data (using electromagnetic radio fields). This needs at least one transmitting device and another to pick up the signal. In our case, our NFC enabled bottle is the transmitter and your phone is receiving the signal. Remember, you’ll need to unlock your phone to initiate the NFC technology.

Q4: Does NFC transmit any data from my phone to the NFC Cap on a Jameson Bottle?

Don’t worry, NFC technology only sends data to your phone that enables Jameson Connects to work. The Jameson Connects programme via NFC does not however retrieve any data directly from your phone, other than your registration info – but this is via the website that you are directed to.

Q5: What phones have NFC we hear you ask?

Here’s a general list but best to check with your provider to see if your phone provider is NFC compatible:

  • Recent Android phones (2017 or later) are NFC compatible (e.g. for Samsung, S6 and later). Make sure the NFC technology is switched on.
  • iPhone XS and later are NFC compatible.
  • iPhone 7 up to iPhone X with iOS 11 and later can read NFC tags, a 3rd party app must be used (search for NFC reader in the App Store).

Q6: Do I have to download an APP to enable NFC to work?

The long and the short of it is if your phone is not compatible with NFC then unfortunately you will need to download an NFC Reader app through your App store. But once you’re on WIFI this shouldn’t take too long to sort.

Q7: Do I have to turn on NFC on my phone?

Yes, this is key to get in, or rather get connected. Just make sure your NFC functionality is turned on, or if you’re using an NFC reader, just check your App is open so it can receive the transmission. Here’s a handy guide on how to turn on your NFC on your Android phones:

  1. Open settings
  2. Click Connected devices
    • If you don’t see his option, find a similar one, like 'wireless & networks' 'Connections' or 'NFC' you might need to click More to see other settings
  3. Turn on NFC
    • If you don’t find this option, find a similar one, like 'NFC and payment'

Note: these steps can differ depending on your device and Android version, if they don’t work, visit your device manufacturer’s help centre for more info

Q8: Does the phone cover impact the ability to transmit and receive NFC?

Yes unfortunately, it can sometimes impact the ability to read NFC, if it’s too thick or in metal case for example. It will depend on the phone cover type.

Q9: Do I need to tap a new bottle cap every time I get a prompt to redeem an offer?

Not all offers require a tap, but for certain offers you will be prompted to ‘tap again’. This can be tapping the same bottle or a new one.

Q10: Why do you need to capture my personal data?

With your consent, certain personal data is required to register to the programme (as is requested on the registration page). If we didn’t have this info we wouldn’t be able to contact you about any upcoming experiences, events, offers and much more. We really only require a small amount of personal data to make the programme work for you. And to make sure everything is above board (and the bar), when you are accessing the website, cookies will be used in accordance with our cookie policy. Your personal data will then be used in order to contact you in relation to the programme. We will always inform you of other personal data before it is collected and the purpose. Q11: Can I unsubscribe from communications?

Of course. You’re not tied into anything. Like a night out, you’re free to come and go whenever you choose using the ‘Unsubscribe’ button located on all Email communications and SMS.

Q12: My NFC enabled Jameson bottle is not working. What should I do?

If you’re cap isn’t tapping, check back on ‘How to tap’ and the details around having NFC installed/ turned on depending on your phone provider. If you’ve tried all of this and it’s still not working for you, then fill out the ‘Contact Form’ on our website and someone from the Jameson Connects team will get back to you.

Q1: How will I know when there is a new offer available to be redeemed?

We’ll let you know through whatever preferred means of communication you selected – via text or email.

Q2: What is the 4-digit code? And how does it work?

Think of it as the special key that opens the door into this Jameson world. It’s unique to each bottle and found under each connected bottle cap. When you are in the programme you will see a section where you can add this to your profile. Once added we’ll contact you with additional offers exclusive to 4-digit code users.

Q3: How often will new offers be available?

Jameson Connects will be updated every month with new offers. So be sure to keep an eye out.

Q4: Why might I not be able to avail of all the offers in the programme?

Each offer will have its own eligibility criteria which may require that a bottle is registered using the individual four-digit code found under the cap. If you have not met the criteria you may not be able to avail of that offer. This helps us make sure there is equal distribution of offers to all our fans.

Q5: Am I able to share my offer with my friends?

We’re all about sharing. So yes, please use the ‘share’ button on the page to tell your friends about Jameson Connects. It’s worth mentioning though that they must register in order to avail of the same offers.

Q1: Do I have to buy numerous bottles of Jameson to be part of the programme and avail of the offers?

Firstly, it is not necessary to purchase a bottle in order to register for Jameson Connects. However, once part of the programme, there will be certain offers that require you to validate one purchased bottle, through tapping or adding in the unique 4-digit code which is found under the cap.

Q1: What Brand Home is this complimentary ticket linked to?

You can redeem your complimentary ticket at Jameson Distillery Bow St., Dublin or Jameson Distillery Midleton, Cork.

Q2: What tour/ experience does this complimentary ticket entitle me to?

This complimentary ticket will get you entrance to the flagship Bow St. Experience at Jameson Distillery Bow St. or the flagship Jameson Experience Tour at Jameson Distillery Midleton.

Q3: Do I have to book a date and time for my tour or can I just show up with my ticket?

You will need to book a day and time for your tour through the link that was sent to your phone using your unique 5-digit code that was sent via SMS. This is the only method for booking.

Q4: Can children attend the Brand Homes even if they’re under 18?

You can add child tickets (u18) to your complimentary visit at the time of booking and they can learn all about the history of Jameson. They’ll have to sit out the whiskey tasting but can still enjoy a soft drink at JJ’s.

Q5: What is the expiry date of booking my tour ticket?

You can book your tour online until 31st March and visit the distillery up until May 31st, 2020. Subject to availability.

Q6: How do I add another ticket to my order for a friend?

You will be able to bring a friend by adding on another ticket when you click through to the Brand Home booking system. You can add another Adult, a Student or a Child ticket and you will be charged accordingly.

Q7: What time is your last tour?

Our experience times (just like some of our cocktails) vary with the season. Check out opening hours for Jameson Distillery Bow St. and for Jameson Distillery Midleton by clicking on these links.
Tip: Our opening hours and our last tour times differ, and since we don’t want you to miss out, remember, if our closing time says 7pm, chances are our last tour is at 6pm.

Q8: How long are your tours?

The Bow St. Experience Tour at our Dublin Brand Home lasts 40 minutes (also allow time for your complimentary Jameson, Ginger & Lime afterwards) and the Jameson Experience Tour at our Cork Brand Home lasts 60 minutes.

Q9: Are the Brand Homes wheelchair accessible?

Both tour routes and both Brand Homes are wheelchair accessible.

Q10: What do I need to bring with me to prove my booking?

All you need to show at reception is your Confirmation Email you received with your Booking Number and the team will print out your tickets for you. Reminder to arrive 15 minutes before your tour time.

Q11: How do I change the date/ time of my tour or cancel completely?
