The sun’s out, the shades are on and there’s only one thing missing – summer cocktails. This one is a delicious tribute to the ‘Daily Grog’, the little glass of whiskey that every Jameson worker was rewarded with at the end of their shift. Although that tradition is now consigned to history, these incredible whiskey and apple cider cocktails will be talked about by your lucky friends for years to come. By blending lemons, sugar and elderflower cordial with cider and Jameson Irish Whiskey, you have a simple but simply delicious grog for your summer party guests.
- 1 bottle of Jameson Original
- 150ml of elderflower cordial
- 50g of sugar
- 50ml of boiling water
- Zest & juice of 4 lemons
- 2 litres of dry hard cider
- Lemon slices for garnish
- Add zest and juice of 4 lemons, 150ml elderflower cordial, 50g sugar and 50ml boiling water to a bowl.
- Leave sit for an hour, then sieve into another bowl, add 1 bottle of Jameson Original and stir.
- Ladle mix into a shaker, add ice and shake it up.
- Pour into a jug, top up with dry cider and stir.
- Serve in a short glass over ice.
- Garnish with a lemon slice
