Great Divide Brewing Company
Meet Our Denver Brewery Partner
For the fifth year running, Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey and Great Divide Brewing Company are collaborating to bring barrel-aged beers to Colorado's neighborhoods. Using whiskey barrels shipped from the Jameson distillery in Midleton, Ireland, Great Divide Brewing Company has created two limited edition brews you won’t want to miss.
Being a Drinking Buddies partner brewery has been a great experience for Great Divide. In 2015, we opened a new facility with ample barrel aging facilities and having access to Jameson barrels has allowed us to experiment beyond our original scope and create some incredible beers along the way! From Jameson barrel-aged beers to beer barrel-aged whiskey to shot and beer pairings to beer and whiskey cocktails, this program has really made us rethink the myriad ways whiskey and beer can go together.
We've been in Denver since 1994. We started in what's now called the Ball Park neighborhood, because of its proximity to Coors Field, but when we opened, Coors Field did not yet exist! When we expanded a mile down the road to a different neighborhood (River North Art District or RiNo), we worked closely with the city, as they were focused on adding infrastructure and growing this area of town into the thriving hot spot that it is now. We decided to open a taproom here, just to give a friendly front door to the developing neighborhood. We were one of the first breweries in Colorado, and we remain the largest and longest-standing packaging brewery in the city. Our culture and our beer is hugely inspired by embracing the urban lifestyle, while appreciating the mountains nearby.
