The Black Abbey Brewing Company
Meet Our Nashville Brewery Partner
For the second year running, Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey and The Black Abbey Brewing Company are collaborating to bring a barrel-aged beer to Nashville's neighborhoods and to the Great American Beer Festival® this September. Using whiskey barrels shipped all the way from the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Ireland, The Black Abbey Brewing Company has created a limited edition brew you won’t want to miss. Hear from Co-founder Carl Meier about the brewery, their neighborhood, and the journey to the GABF.
Good friends and good times.
“Lorica is an ancient Gaelic prayer attributed to St. Patrick, and it's recited for protection and inspiration. This Belgian-style Dubbel is named after it.”
"German Style Dopplebock, cold aged for 5 months in Jameson Irish Whiskey barrels. Rich and malty with balanced oak, vanilla and malt sweetness."
Try these limited edition releases at the Great American Beer Festival® this September.
"Berry Hill is thriving! In the five years since The Black Abbey was founded, we've seen incredible growth. Vanderbilt Medical Center revitalized an old shopping mall, new bars and restaurants have opened, and the neighborhood has grown in both population and culture.
We chose Berry Hill because of its central location and easy access to the interstate and we are just about five miles from downtown Nashville. We love that we have built a group of regular customers that spend significant time with us at the brewery. We call our taproom Fellowship Hall and that name truly represents the culture of our taproom. We pride ourselves as being a place where people can congregate and share great beer, great conversation, and one another's company."
