Poet Belita Andre and Jameson join forces to \u2018Mix Don\u2019t Mingle\u2019 <\/h2>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

We work closely with our partners where\u00a0Jameson<\/b>\u00a0is served to create authentic experiences where you can enjoy your\u00a0Jameson\u00a0<\/b>responsibly in accordance with current protocols, which means wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing – the philosophies at the heart of our \u2018Mix don\u2019t Mingle<\/b><\/a>\u2019 campaign.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For this campaign we also collaborated with the poet\u00a0Belita Andre<\/b>\u00a0while aiming to shine a light on South Africa\u2019s hard-hit restaurant industry. Through our influencer partners and social media platforms we gave away dining experiences to three Johannesburg-based restaurants that have been impacted by Covid-19.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

South African born,\u00a0Andre\u00a0<\/b>is of Namibian and Nigerian descent, and her vast perspective on storytelling, history and art in literature saw her perform her poem\u00a0Maker’s Valley<\/i>\u00a0for the Duchess of Sussex on her 2019 tour of SA<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Andre<\/b>\u00a0also teamed up with frequent\u00a0Jameson<\/b>\u00a0collaborator and SAMA-winning rapper,\u00a0Kwesta<\/i>, to host a takeover show on\u00a0Nights with Zweli<\/b><\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/i>on 947 where the duo performed a mash-up of\u00a0Kwesta\u2019s\u00a0<\/i>rap and\u00a0Andre\u2019s\u00a0<\/b>poetry.<\/p>\n

\nTugging at textures, and music, and time.
\nLoyal and vivid in it\u2019s liquid strides.
\nSo on the incessant question of survival,
\nregard your life as a lesson, not a rival.<\/p>\n

when your chin grazes the belly of a cloud,
\nreturning sight to the horizon,
\ndo not cover the eyes that see,
\nOr make wound of the mouth that speaks
\nIf your body calls for it\u2026
\nMake room,
\nand breathe.<\/p>\n

Other ways peek out to teach other,
\nand break bread in chambers of thought.
\nA road, clear, if you are willing
