Alloa en \u00c9cosse en 1740, il arrive \u00e0 Dublin \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1770 et d\u00e9cide de cr\u00e9er l&#8217;une des premi\u00e8res distilleries du pays. Quatre de ses fils ont poursuivi son travail de distillation en Irlande, fondant ainsi une dynastie familiale qui allait s\u2019\u00e9tendre sur plusieurs g\u00e9n\u00e9rations.
