Fruit Vinegars, or “shrubs” are great for when you don’t have citrus and need acidity, and can be easily made with apple cider vinegar, balsamic or white vinegar.

Raspberry Shrub Recipe

  • 16 oz. White Vinegar
  • 1 Cup Fresh or Frozen Raspberries
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • Heat in a saucepan and strain until smooth

Cordials

A great way to preserve used fruit juice, this hack combines fruit, zest and sugar to create a cordial for your cocktails!

Lime Cordial is the type of cordial being made.

Lime Cordial

  • 250g Sugar
  • 8 oz Hot Water
  • 1 ½ oz Lime Juice
  • 1 ½ oz Grated Lime Peel
  • 1 oz Citric Acid
  • Combine all ingredients in a blender
  • Blend on medium speed for 30 seconds
  • Strain with a fine strainer
  • Bottle and refrigerate
