Smoked Salmon Blinis with Chive Cream Cheese

Invite your friends for a night of good vibes followed by a cheeky tipple of Jameson and a tasty bite of something savoury. Specifically, these Smoked Salmon Blinis. They’re almost too good to be true.


  • 1 pack of smoked salmon
  • Chives
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese
  • Black pepper
  • 100g plain flour
  • Half teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 130ml milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 20g butter
  • 1 lemon

Recipe Steps:

  1. Prepare the blini batter by whisking your flour, baking powder, milk and egg together. If it looks a bit thick, you can add a splash more milk, if it’s too thin you can add a bit more flour.
  2. Make your herby cream cheese by mixing the cream cheese with black pepper and lemon zest. Finely chop your chives and add most of them to the mix, saving some for garnish.
  3. Melt your butter in a hot (preferably non-stick) frying pan and add spoonfuls of your blini mixture about the size of a digestive biscuit. Flip after a couple of minutes. Place on a paper towel when done.
  4. Slice your smoked salmon into smaller pieces. Top the blinis with your magical cream cheese first and then the salmon slices. Top these with a bit more black pepper, lemon zest and chives. DIG IN.
