HOW TO ENTER
THE CHALLENGE
Design a cocktail inspired by your locality (a local ingredient, method, technique, craft, person, place or combination of the above) that accentuates the flavour profile of Jameson Black Barrel and tell us why it works so well as the base spirit for your cocktail?
Next, blend together your creativity, cocktail design and flavour analysis to create an engaging and impactful 30-60 second video that brings your personality to life, while inspiring your global bar community with your passion for your craft and your locality.
TO ENTER:
1. Film yourself presenting your cocktail in a 30 – 60 seconds (portrait) video and post it to your instagram account, using our competition hashtags: #JamesonBartenderSeries26 #Competition #Bartenders #JamesonBlackBarrel
2. Ensure your Instagram account is public so we can see your video until Monday March 9th 2026.
3. Upload your high quality video to a file sharing site (e.g. google drive) and share the link with us via the entry form below. It must accessible until March 9th so that we can download and review your video.

Jean Trinh is rated #4 most influential in the hospitality industry 2025 and his bar, Alquimico was recognized as “Best International Cocktail Bar” and “World’s Best Bar” at Tales Of The Cocktails’ prestigious Spirited Awards ceremony in 2024.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. This competition is open to all entrants globally where it is legally compliant, and subject to our Terms & Conditions. Known countries where it is not legally compliant include the USA & Russia. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our international bar community!
2. You can review our full terms & conditions for your specific market on the ‘Entry form’ below by selecting your country from the drop down menu, then ‘Terms & conditions document’.
3. You must be a bar professional within the past 5 years or currently working professionally within the drinks industry to enter this competition.
4. If using other spirit based products, we encourage you to use any of the Pernod Ricard portfolio products, otherwise such products must be referred to generically (omitting brand names and any branded visual references) e.g. vodka, rum, stout etc in non-branded bottles.
5. All video submissions containing language must either be in the English language or contain English subtitles.
6. Unsuccessful entrants will not be notified directly. Please refer to @JamesonHOSTS (IG) for competition updates
7. This is a virtual competition in phase 1, so no taste testing will take place. Our judging panel will use their extensive knowledge of mixology to asses submissions from each entrant. However, in phase 3 our top 10 drinks will be taste tested by our judging and mentor panels. Both panels will score in isolation form each other, with the winners resulting from the combined scores of both groups.
Phase 1: 26 x ‘Regional Champions’ are announced based on each participants video submission.
Phase 2: Top 10 x ‘Global Finalists’ are announced based on each participants video submission (no additional video submission required).
Phase 3: Both our judging and mentor panels will taste test the ‘Top 10 Global Finalists’ cocktails and vote to determine our 3 ‘Global Champions’.
8. Our 26 x ‘Regional Champions’ will be selected according the following market breakdown:

9. If local laws prohibit you from posting your entry on instagram, you do not have to complete this element of the entry process and can still enter as long as you are legally compliant with local laws.

HOW TO PERFECT YOUR SHOOT
THE FINAL EXPLAINED
THE TASK:
This is a taste test. Judges will be asked to rate all 10 drinks anonymously in order of taste preference.
THE PROCESS:
Our panel of judges and mentors (6 total) will each taste all 10 drinks, and assign them a number from one to ten; their favourite scoring 10 pts, all the way down to their least favourite who will score 1 point.
With all 6 scoring cards combined, the top 3 scores will become our 3 Global Champions 2026.
CONDITIONS:
Glassware: Generic glassware will be provided (rocks, highball or coupe) but you can also bring your own bespoke glassware. You must present 6 minimum.
Garnish: All reasonable garnish will be permitted to accompany the drink.
Ice: All reasonable requests will be facilitated. This includes cubes, spheres, bespoke cut shards etc.
Pre arrival into Ireland, our Top 10 Finalists will be connected with our drinks agency partners who will assist with the creation of your drink for the final.
You can opt to travel with your ingredients (can be risky if luggage is lost), ship it to Ireland in advance, ask our Drinks agency to source elements for you or a mix of the above.
Once you land in Ireland, you will immediately connect with our drinks agency at the hotel to review/complete your drink.
At the final, you can prepare your drinks (6) yourself or be present while our drinks agency prepare them on your behalf and taste test them for final approval.
Your drink will be served anonymously by our waiters to the judging panel for review. Your drink will be assigned an identification number from 1-10 for this purpose.

A dedication to the craft and passion of our makers at the Midleton Distillery, Jameson Black Barrel is created from carefully selected, distinct batches of triple distilled whiskeys that are matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry, double-charred and virgin oak barrels. Matured in a combination of American oak, sherry casks and double charred bourbon barrels, Jameson Black Barrel is a blend of ‘small batch’ grain and traditional Irish Pot Still whiskeys.
Time spent maturing in these barrels lends this whiskey intensified notes of vanilla sweetness and caramel, alongside toasted wood, fruit, and warm spice.
