Choosing the Right Ginger for Your Cocktail
The type of ginger you use changes the drink more than anything else.
Ginger ale is lighter, slightly sweeter and keeps a whiskey and ginger smooth and easy-drinking. Ginger beer brings more spice and bite, giving the same cocktail a stronger, more defined edge. Ginger syrup gives another element …richer, warmer and better suited to shorter or more flavour-led serves.
