Smokey New Fashioned

Sip wisely with this low-alcohol take on a classic old fashioned cocktail. The addition of Chinese Tea (we chose lapsang souchong) maintains the punch of a classic old fashioned, whilst reducing the alcoholic content.

  • 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 50 ml Chilled Lapsang Souchong Tea
  • 10 ml Honey Syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • 10 ml Jameson Original
  • 1 twist Orange
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
  • 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1⅔ Parts Chilled Lapsang Souchong Tea
  • ⅓ Parts Honey Syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • ⅓ Parts Jameson Original
  • 1 twist Orange
  • 2 dashes Orange Bitters
Step-by-step

How to make

  1. Combine all ingredients in a glass jug with ice.

  2. Stir.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass with ice.

  4. Garnish with a flamed orange.

A handy tip for this recipe is to use the cap of a Jameson Original bottle when making this recipe – that is roughly 10mls and one-third of a standard measure. For great nights and greater next days.
