Glow Up Cocktail Recipe
Designed by Global Champion, Thanesh Kumar, winner of the ‘Jameson Black Barrel Bartender Series 2023’. The Glow Up is a refreshing highball, pairing the rich toffee notes and spicy complexity of Jameson Black Barrel whiskey with traditional Indian toddy — a coconut sap wine easily made through home fermentation.
Ingredients

50 ml Jameson Black Barrel

500 ml Young Coconut Water

1 tbsp Cane Molasses

5 g Cinammon
-
5 g Cardamon
-
5 g Star Anise

5 g Turmeric

1⅔ Parts Jameson Black Barrel

16⅔ Parts Young Coconut Water

1 tbsp Cane Molasses

5 g Cinammon

5 g Cardamon

How to make

Paint a stripe of “GOLD” Paint with a silicone brush and let it rest in the chiller till the paint solidifies.

Once the paint has solidified, add ice into the glass.

Add 30ml of Jameson Black Barrel and give it a quick stir.

Top of the glass with the carbonated toddy directly out of the siphon charger.

Give it another stir and its time to enjoy!

*To make the Spiced Toddy Soda: Mix all ingredients in a jug and let sit covered with cheesecloth in room temperature for 24 hours. Filter all solids and charge the toddy in a cream siphon with a CO2 canister.

*To Make the “Gold” paint garnish: Simmer all ingredients in a pot over medium heat until texture is thick and consistent.

As a kid, I’ve always loved to entertain. Be it in person or on camera, I loved putting on a show for people without fear (#sinemetu). Like Jameson Black Barrel, I believe maturity is a result of environment, experience, and virtues. This cocktail represents my very own maturing process as an individual.
